Basildon Chess Club

Basildon Club Rapid 2024 The tournament took place on Thursday 13th June 2024, with 13 competitors, 10 of whom completed all 6 rounds. The format was a 6 round Swiss tournament, with 10 minutes plus 5 seconds per move. Sum Of Opponents Scores was used as a tie breaker in cases where scores were level.

This was a hard fought competition, that ended at close to 11pm. A fine performance from Arunas, who was the only unbeaten player and won by a clear point, in spite of a 'quick' draw in the final round against Peter. Arunas is therefore crowned Basildon Rapid Champion 2024. The consistency shown by Arunas was not shared by the other contenders, who all managed to drop points against each other.
