Basildon Under-140 Championship 2015
Starting on 29th January 2015 we will have an under 140 championship for the first time. This is designed to give our less experienced players the chance to compete against each other in a league format to claim the title of Under-140 Basildon chess champion. There will be a trophy plus a £10 prize for the winner.
It's an all-play-all event with everybody playing each other once. Half a point for a draw, a full point for a win. The player top of the league will win. Games will not clash with your league games. The tournament should finish around May.
7 matches to be played. You will either have 3 whites/4 blacks or 4 whites/ 3 blacks. All games are graded.
If you are unable to play on the dates that have been selected for the rounds, please let me know in advance so we can rearrange. Anyone not giving any notice will automatically lose their match!
Upcoming fixtures and results to date are in the cross table below.
Good luck everybody ! Sean Clarke (Tournament Secretary)

Competition Report
Congratulations to ROB HEWITT who becomes the first Basildon Chess Club U140 champion. Well done Rob!
Thank you to everyone who took part. It was intensely fought and there were some excellent games played. There will be another U140 league next January for anyone under 140.
Also thanks to Sean, for organising yet another successful club competition!
